How long should the training be?

The start - Get into SlimHoop training with momentum

As with all hula hoops, the SlimHoop also requires the typical swing (derived from the hula dance of the native Hawaiians). And how exactly you achieve this, we want to show you here Explain step by step:

  • Place the SlimHoop on the floor and step into the hoop. 
  • Place your feet shoulder-width apart, with one foot slightly further forward than the other.
  • Bend your knees slightly and assume an upright posture
  • Lift the Slim Hoop Hula Hoop and hold it at waist level so that it rests on your lower back.
  • To start the typical hula swing, you now need to swing your upper body and hips in one direction and simultaneously push the SlimHoop in the other direction with a powerful push. It should circle around your hips.
  • To maintain momentum, you should immediately start shifting your hips and body weight alternately forward and backward.

Especially at the beginning, the right swing can be a bit challenging, and you shouldn't give up after one or two failed attempts. As with almost everything, the following applies here too: Practice creates masters!

Note: You should make sure you have a firm stance with your feet. Therefore, you shouldn't stand on tiptoes or heels, but always keep your whole foot in contact with the ground. You should also check beforehand that you really have enough space around you to hull.

Exercises & Workouts with the SlimHoop Hula Hoop

Once you have mastered the swing, you have also created the basis for your first effective workout. 2-4 times a week for about 15-20 minutes of hulling. You'd be amazed at how stressful this can be.
